Thank you to those who attended Tuesday night’s all-member meeting. It was the first of many forums we will have to discuss problems and contract violations you are facing and learn ways to cut to solutions and take action.

Here are some of the big ideas members identified last night. All of these will be brought to the Board of Directors and Bargaining team to determine how they can be added to our strategic plan or upcoming bargaining.
- Implement a cap on how much time educators spend in Professional Development trainings (especially trainings not relevant to their job category)
- Conduct a time study to determine if caseloads for special educators and related service providers are serving our students
- Ensure Blue Sheets are accessible, and educators (especially special educators and related service providers) know how to submit them
- Research the number of meetings and the time educators spend in meetings each week aross the school system to determine a more equitable breakdown of time, and decrease unnecessary meetings
- Advocate for paid teacher internships and funding for the Student Loan Assistance Forgiveness program
- Institute better student placements/ matriculation to ensure the staff we have are best used
- Support first-year educators with staffing placements that provide the most support/mentorship
