- Coppin State University offers graduate programs that serve the needs of all educators. Our MAT program leads to initial licensure in ECED, SPED, and ELED. For certified teachers, we offer an MEd in Teacher Leadership (fully remote) that helps prepare you for National Board Certification, Contact Dr. Maher ([email protected]). For those considering administrative roles, we also offer a certificate in School Administration (formerly Admin I) and an MEd in Contemporary Educational Leadership. - Loyola University Maryland: The application for the Study abroad in India opens on December 12th! If you are interested, or know anyone who might be interested, please have them complete the following form: https://forms.gle/G5ea4VqcPNUXj9QKA. Also, we will be hosting a BYO dinner at Loyola’s Boulder Cafe this Monday (December 15th) at 4PM. If you have yet to attend an information session, please do so as this is a requirement prior to submitting your application. - McDaniel College: McDaniel College’s Division of Graduate and Professional Studies is hosting a virtual open house on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 5:00pm. Please see the attached flyer for more information and registration. Also, McDaniel College offers 1-credit and 3-credit courses that help educators meet the PD requirements for licensure renewal. - Notre Dame of Maryland University: Notre Dame of Maryland University is offering a free, virtual professional development session “AI for Access: Tools That Empower Every Learner” on Tuesday, December 17th at 6:00pm. - Notre Dame of Maryland University is partnered with AACPS, and offers fully online MSDE-approved coursework and programs including the Accelerated Certification in Teaching (ACT), and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs. Admission is on a rolling basis, with multiple entry points throughout the year. Upcoming entry points include January 2, 2026 and January 20, 2026. Certification areas include: Special Education, Art, Music, World Languages, Elementary Education, ESOL, Business, Computer Science, History, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Theatre. - Salisbury University: Salisbury University offers a bachelor’s degree program leading to certification in Elementary Education at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center located at Chesapeake College. Evening courses meet face-to-face, Monday-Thursday. The M.Ed. Educational Leadership and Post-Master Certificate programs are fully remote to fulfill your leadership aspirations! Grow your campus leadership through the online programs in M.Ed. Higher Education Leadership and Ed.D. Literacy Studies. SU also offers three, online walk-through courses led by trained National Board Certification facilitators to prepare teachers for National Board Certification, and completers are eligible for 8 CPD credits through MSDE. Already Nationally Board Certified? The M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction program will take 6 credits toward your master’s degree if you are (coming very soon!).
- Salisbury University: Maryland teachers who want to include elements of civic engagement in their courses can earn $650 for participating in Civic Engagement Across the Curriculum. The 2026 Summer Institute is specifically focused on middle grade teachers, with a preference for teachers outside the social studies. Teachers will learn how to incorporate proven and promising practices for civic engagement into their content area and will include topics such as student service-learning, taking informed action, digital literacy, teaching online evaluation skills, and aligning civic learning with your curriculum. The Summer Institute will be in-person at the University of Maryland, College Park on July 28 and 29, 2026. Apply today!
- Stevenson Online: Stevenson University Online (SUO) offers career-focused programs, including master’s, bachelor’s, and graduate certificates. SUO offers several education programs, including Early Childhood Education (MAT), STEM Teaching (MAT), Literacy Education (certificate), National Board Teaching Professional (certificate), Secondary STEM Teaching and Learning (certificate), Community-Based Education and Leadership (MA and certificate), and Integrative Learning (MEd). - Towson University: Towson University offers a variety of courses and programs for AACPS employees. Many courses and programs are offered at reduced tuition in online and hybrid formats for eligible employees in active service. Any in-person session would meet conveniently in an AACPS location. Graduate and undergraduate programs are available for AACPS employees, supporting both initial licensure and advanced professional learning. It is full of resources, learning modules for teachers to earn professional learning hours toward re-licensure, recorded webinars of instructional supports for MLs , and resources for families with legal, medical, language-based support, and more! - University of Maryland Baltimore County: Earn an MA TESOL, MA TESOL w/P-12 ESOL Licensure, or TESOL Postbaccalaureate Certificate through UMBC’s online TESOL program, ranked top 3 in the nation by Intelligent and Best Colleges. - University of Maryland Baltimore County: Please consider attending UMBC’s Arts Integration Conference, where creativity and learning come together in energizing, hands-on ways. - University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Baltimore: UMES offers the states only higher education commission certificate programs in Career and Technology Education (meets MSDE’s Professional and Technical Education licensure requirements), and Work-Based Learning and Career Counseling (satisfies the requirements for MSDE’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator endorsement). Programs can be completed via a mix of synchronous and asynchronous class sessions in as little as one year. UMES’s tuition is among the lowest in the state for four-year institutions with payment plans available. Graduate level courses can be applied toward the M.Ed. in Career and Technology Education.
