The Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County (TAAAC) is a 6,500 member strong union in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, representing teachers, school counselors, and other related service providers.
TAAAC is hiring staff to support ongoing organizing and government relations work ahead of the 2024 general election. Anne Arundel County is a battleground for the Board of Education elections, where book bans and our ability to teach history are on the ballot. This position will support volunteer efforts in seven races throughout the county.
The Election Organizer manages volunteer turnout for assigned political campaigns and performs duties necessary with regard to these activities. This employee will report to the Communications Organizer. Work will be conducted full time from August through November 2024.

Duties, Responsibilities and Major Tasks: Schedule and participate in regular (multiple times each week) worksite visits to have 1-1s with educators Implement targeted outreach, communication, and training to potential and returning volunteers Organize actions including door knocking, phone banking, and poll coverage Support PAC fundraising Other related election tasks and events

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience Campaign experience preferred Understanding of union/labor movement Must possess a valid US driver’s license and vehicle.
