Call your Delegates
Today, TAAAC members along with union members from other local educator and library unions packed the house committee hearing today to advocate for HB1492 which would overturn the ban on educators and librarians being able to strike. We are asking you and fellow community allies to take a moment today to call the committee members.

Here is a script for what you could say when you call:
Hi. My name is ________________. I’m a ______________ (state your connection to the school system and/or library system if you have one: e.g. parent or grandparent of a student) and I live at ________________ (give your address). I’m calling to ask you to support House Bill 1492. The right to strike will strengthen educators’ and librarians’ voices at the bargaining table and will help ensure Maryland has the strong public schools and public libraries we deserve. Thanks!

No Kings 3 Rally
In addition to the above, we hope our allies are supporting the No Kings movement that has spread across the nation! The next rally in Annapolis will be on Saturday, March 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. This iteration will include a rally, sign-waving, organizing, and more to ensure that working families are prioritized over the billionaires and that our democracy does not succumb to authoritarianism. Please note the gathering location is 2644 Riva Road. Parking for those with mobility concerns will be available at this location. All others are encouraged to park at the Harry Truman Park & Ride.
