In addition to compensation, they’ve agreed to the following boundaries and limitations of your work supporting equity PDs. AACPS will share this information with your principals:
- Literacy Teachers will provide a supporting, not a primary, role in delivering Equity Professional Development trainings. Their role will focus only on how literacy supports the overall goals of the AACPS Equity Office.
- Their additional tasks shall be limited to the following:
- Co-presentation of the Equity PD trainings on those sections relevant to the Literacy Teacher’s particular expertise.
- No more than two hours of preparation time, during the duty day, with the Equity Liaison prior to delivery of the training.
- Literacy Teachers will not be required to attend any portion of the Equity Liaison preparation meetings with the Equity Office prior to delivery of the Equity PD.
- Building administrators will proactively schedule time for the Literacy Teacher to complete these additional duties by adjusting, removing, or otherwise changing their duties to ensure these responsibilities can be completed during the regular duty day.
