A Word from our Executive Director
- Time allowed for classroom prep: “No less than the equivalent of one and one-half (1 ½) work days prior to the arrival of students in the fall shall be reserved for individual preparation by teachers in their work area.” Article 11G
- Work from home 8/25: We have confirmed with AACPS that Friday, August 25 is a teacher workday during which school-based teachers may choose to work asynchronously at home or they may choose to work in school. It is intended to be a teacher directed work day without meetings or other activities assigned by administration.
- Toileting: The current policy as of the 22-23 school year stands that students should come to our schools fully toileted. If there are students who need support, please alert your school nurse and admin.
Your Voice. Your Union.
You scream, I scream, we all scream for donuts!
It’s that time of year again! I want to come visit you AND bring donuts! Whether you’re facing issues already around planning time or caseloads, or just want a friendly face, schedule a time for me to stop by.
Take action!
If you could tell the Board of Education one thing that would make your job better, what would it be? Educators know what is best for our students’ learning conditions and how to best improve our working conditions, so we should be able to hold our elected officials accountable and insist they listen to us on what impacts our schools!
We’re coming to your worksite this year to talk about getting involved in the 2024 elections of our BOE. Stay tuned!
