On May 15, 2023, the Negotiations Teams for the Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County and Anne Arundel County Public Schools reached a Tentative Agreement for the FY24 contract. Ahead of ratification of the contract and final vote on the county-wide budget by the County Council, TAAAC, along with sister unions SAAAAC, AFSCME, and AEL, will host a press conference on Tuesday, May 23 at 5:00 p.m. at People’s Park in Annapolis. TAAAC President Nicole Disney-Bates released the following statement ahead of the event:
“The Tentative Agreement includes a 6% COLA for all Unit 1 employees and one step increase for all eligible staff – in alignment with the approved Board of Education budget and public education budget proposal by County Executive Steuart Pittman. We are excited to coordinate with our fellow union allies to advocate for full funding of the public education budget, which advances the wages and working conditions of all school staff that support our students.”
