TAAAC News

Weekly Update: March 11, 2025

Do you need additional staffing to lower class sizes and caseloads? Do you need additional TAs to support the increase in violent student behavior? Would more competitive pay keep you and your colleagues here in Anne Arundel County? What are you willing to do to ensure our schools, students, and staff receive full funding? To ensure we get the funding for the staffing and salaries we need, we must build upon the work we did in January and February when we showed up and testified at the budget hearings and town halls. To do this, you and your colleagues must continue to insist we get the school board’s proposed budget funded. This is why we are hosting a community forum about the education budget on Thursday, March 27 at 6 pm. Sign up by clicking on this link. We will be joined by our fellow AACPS education unions--SAAAAC and AFSCME—to make clear what the needs of the school system are. We will be telling our stories about the importance of school funding so our community members understand the impact on students’ learning conditions and our own working conditions. If we want the county council to fund the staffing and salaries we need, then we need the support of our community. This is why we need you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors who live in Anne Arundel County to attend. Share the RSVP link.
