TAAAC Racial Social Justice Committee announces annual Mills King Humanitarian Awards are open for nominations
Nominations are now open for the Mills-King Award. Nominees will have demonstrated an exemplary ability to foster learning environments conducive to the understanding and valuing of all cultural groups, as well as promoting and providing more humane educational experiences for every child through contributions in the areas of equity, aid, and mentorship. The award recipient will be selected based solely upon the narrative and materials submitted.
Walter Mills and Douglas King devoted their lives to others. Mills, a TAAAC President, served in a case which led to the equalization of all teacher salaries in Maryland; and King fostered positive human relations as a principal at Bates High School.
