Now that the legislative session is over, how do we support pro-public education candidates we helped elect? How do we hold them accountable to our priorities? How do we enforce policies we lobbied for?

By getting involved in upcoming races!

In 2024, Anne Arundel County will elect new members of the Board of Education. We’ll be hosting information sessions throughout the summer and into the next school year. Stay tuned for opportunities! We’ll also host our annual legislative happy hour in January 2024, followed by weekly lobby sessions at the state house.

Each election season, we have educators come out to provide the public with teacher-recommended candidates. The Apple Ballot is popular among members and the general public. A link will be available HERE for the general election in 2024.

Phone Banking/ Canvassing Opportunities

Speaking to voters is a valuable way to inform the community about pro-public education, TAAAC-endorsed candidates. During the election cycle, we put together teams to go door to door to distribute information.

Any registered voter in Maryland may vote by mail-in ballot. You don't need a reason to vote by mail-in ballot. Getting your vote in well ahead of Election Day gives you peace of mind, and voting by mail is a great way to avoid a last-minute, in-person rush.
